The Tillamook County Futures Council
was established in 1997 by the Board of County Commissioners as an
advisory council. The original purpose of the Council was to
develop a citizen-based, long-range Strategic Vision for Tillamook
County. Today the Futures Council serves as stewards of the
Vision and the on-going countywide visioning process.
Mission of the Tillamook County Futures Council
The Mission of the Tillamook County Futures Council is to serve as stewards of
Tillamook County's Vision and its on-going county wide visioning process.
With this, we'll provide the public with backgrounds on project history, people involved, and current activities.
Futures Council Hosts Public Forums on Roads
The Tillamook County Futures Council is pleased to be able to partner with the
Fix Our Roads Committee. This partnership provides an excellent opportunity for us to introduce the community to the Tillamook County Strategic Vision and show the public and community decisions makers how the vision can be used to advance important community initiatives. As non-partisan facilitators we will also demonstrate the relevance of the Futures Council in the community decision making process.
It is clear that the citizens of Tillamook County care about their roads. The Futures Council has just completed an update of the Tillamook County Strategic Vision that clearly indicates the current state of our county roads does not meet the expectations of the citizens of Tillamook County. What is less clear is how the citizens of Tillamook County can work together to improve the quality of our roads.
The Tillamook County Futures Council will host a series of three public forums to discuss the Tillamook Strategic Vision as it relates to the quality of our county roads. Following this presentation the Futures Council will facilitate a discussion of Measure 29-110; the proposal to fund a County-wide Road District. These important meetings will be held:
- Tuesday, April 1, 2008, 6:00 pm – 911 Center, Tillamook
- Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 6:00 pm – Pine Grove Community Center, Manzanita
- Monday, April 28, 2008, 6:00 pm – Kiwanda Community Center, Pacific City
