The Tillamook County Futures Council
The Tillamook County Futures Council
was established in 1997 by the Board of County Commissioners as an
advisory council. The original purpose of the Council was to
develop a citizen-based, long-range Strategic Vision for Tillamook
County. Today the Futures Council serves as stewards of the
Vision and the on-going countywide visioning process.

Tillamook County's Vision and its on-going county wide visioning process.

Tillamook County Futures Council and Oregon
State University
Partner for Vital Tillamook Indicators Project.
On August 19, 2008, the Tillamook County Futures Council (TCFC)
and Oregon State University (OSU) entered into a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) to work together on the Vital Tillamook
Indicators Project. This project is a partnership between the two
organizations providing an exciting opportunity to work together
and engage the community in an effort to assess the progress of
the County toward its vision of a vital future. Read

Stand Up and be Counted!
Tillamook, Ore. - It happens once every ten years. It is time
to stand up and be counted. But why is it important to complete a
2010 Census form? Census data will shape the future of Tillamook
County.
Recognizing the consequences of accurate data collection, the
Tillamook County Futures Council is partnering with Census
outreach efforts. “A precise count allows community leaders to
make more informed management and budget decisions,” emphasized
Shawn Reiersgaard, Council Vice Chair. “Census information is
used to guide planning for roads, hospitals and schools and to
determine areas with the most need for additional social
