TILLAMOOK COUNTY FUTURES COUNCIL HOSTS
COMMUNITY FORUMS TO SHAPE COUNTY VISION

TILLAMOOK COUNTY, Ore. – The Tillamook County Strategic Vision, originally developed in 1997, provides a 20-year visionary framework for Tillamook County that addresses such issues as growth and development, economy, natural resources, and society and culture. The Tillamook County Futures Council is in the process of updating the existing strategic vision through a countywide survey and a series of public forums.

Results from the countywide survey have been tabulated and evaluated. As the next step in the process, the Futures Council is hosting three community forums to discuss the results of the survey, identify key issues and prioritize strategies. You can help develop the Strategic Vision for Tillamook County by attending these community forums and working with us to identify key opportunities and challenges facing Tillamook County in the next 20 years.

The Futures Council, with assistance from the University of Oregon’s Community Planning Workshop, will host three meetings at the following locations and dates:

	WHAT:   North Tillamook County Community Forum WHERE: Pine Grove Community House, 225 Laneda Ave., Manzanita WHEN:   Wednesday, May 16, 2007, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
	WHAT:   Central Tillamook County Community Forum WHERE: Tillamook Main Branch Library, 1716 Third Street, Tillamook WHEN:   Thursday, May 17, 2007, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
	WHAT:   South Tillamook County Community Forum WHERE: Nestucca High School, 34660 Parkway Drive, Cloverdale WHEN:   Wednesday, May 23, 2007, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

The Tillamook County Futures Council was established in 1997 by the County Commissioners for the purpose of facilitating a citizen-based, long-range Strategic Vision for Tillamook County. As a non-political citizen advisory council to the Commissioners, the Futures Council serves as a steward of the County Vision.
