The community, and in particular the youth of Tillamook County, desire ample opportunities to participate in educational, civic, and cultural activities. The community expects that the training and skills necessary to making a living wage in the county will be available to all. Youth will receive quality education to allow them to be competitive in employment and college opportunities.
Vision of our Youth and Education
Tillamook County will be a place that actively involves the youth in their communities through educational programs, extracurricular activities, and community involvement. Schools will be recognized for their academic achievements. Teachers will engage the youth and lead by example. Youth input will be valued and recognized as an important part of community development, and their achievements will be exemplified. By participating in the educational and recreational activities available to them throughout Tillamook County, youth will be educated and nurtured to avoid self-destructive behavior.
On-the-job training will be available to community members to give them the diverse skills they need to become active members of the workforce and the community. High schools will offer classes that provide service-learning opportunities. Tillamook Bay Community College will provide ample course selections for community members seeking a wide-range of careers. The college and local high schools will partner to expand educational opportunities for all students in the county.
